About me
I specialize in health psychology and trauma. Among the conditions I treat are adjustment to chronic illness, insomnia, chronic pain, PTSD, depression, anxiety, and general adjustment issues. I utilize treatments with research support for addressing these conditions. Treatment is collaborative, goal-directed, and skills-based.
Training & experience
I graduated from the University of Virginia with a bachelor's degree in psychology. After undergrad, I worked at the Menninger Clinic for two years. I then pursued a Ph.D. in clinical psychology at the University of Houston. My internship was completed at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio and my postdoctoral fellowship was completed at Baylor College of Medicine. I then worked at TIRR Memorial Hermann for five years. At TIRR I worked with spinal cord injury patients on the inpatient unit and with insomnia, PTSD, and chronic pain patients in the outpatient clinic. I was promoted to outpatient coordinator prior to leaving to pursue private practice.
